Tour #1: National World War I Museum

The start of World War I began 100 years ago this past June, so it's fitting that we offer a tour of the National World War I Museum. Housed beneath the impressive Liberty Memorial Tower, the museum includes a research center, two theaters, exhibitions and artifacts such as a Renault FT-17 tank and a replica of No Man's Land. Follow this link to learn more.

Tour #2: The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Art and culture buffs may be interested in touring The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, which is home to an extensive collection of artifacts. The museum's more than 33,500 pieces include ancient Chinese ceramic objects, an American Indian collection dating from pre-contact to the present, sculptures and photography, and so much more. Follow this link to explore the museum before you go.

        12 – 1:30 p.m.

Lunch at The Bean Hanger at the Roasterie. For more than 20 years, the Roasterie has been the go-to spot for coffee and tea lovers with the most discerning taste. It is modern meets functional, featuring a touch of elegance against the industrial-chic backdrop of a functioning factory. We’ll get a glimpse of the coffee-roasting operations while enjoying delicious barbecue provided by Jack Stack’s Barbecue, which consistently ranks among the highest-rated barbeque in the United States.

For those who want to join us for lunch but are not planning to go on a tour, please gather in the host hotel lobby at 11:15 a.m. on Friday to catch the shuttle to the restauarant.
