Your Fall 2015 Schedule

Thursday, September 3
 

    5:00 - 8:00  p.m.

A number of you are making plans to arrive early. If you arrive on Thursday, please join us in the Hospitality Suite at The Peninsula Chicago to pick up information packets and tickets and join other members for refreshments and conversation.

Friday, September 4
 

    9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.

As you arrive, please come by the Hospitality Suite any time between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to pick up information packets and tickets and join other members for refreshments and conversation.

  9:00 – 11:30 a.m.

If you selected one of the following optional tours, here is the information:

Tour #1: Wrigley Field

Built in 1914, this legendary home of the hapless Chicago Cubs is the second-oldest ballpark in the majors (Boston's Fenway Park was built in 1912). Baseball aficionados−and novices, too−will not want to miss a tour of this most historic sports venue. The tour will conclude with an optional lunch at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

We will gather in the lobby at 8:30 a.m.  Buses will depart at 9:00 a.m.

 Tour #2: Architecture Boat Tours

Enjoy a cruise along the Chicago River while you study the structures that make the Windy City unique. Fun fact: Did you know that Chicago is the birthplace of the skyscraper? The tour will conclude with an optional lunch at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

We will gather in the lobby at 9:00 a.m.  Buses will depart at 9:30 a.m.

Tour #3: The Field Museum of Natural History

You can take a trip around the world and back in time−your admission is your passport to travel through 4.6 billion years. Follow this link to learn more about the permanent and special exhibits and to plan what you would especially like to see. The tour will conclude with an optional lunch at Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

We will gather in the lobby at 9:00 a.m.  Buses will depart at 9:30 a.m.

  12:00 – 1:30 p.m.

For those who registered for lunch, It will be held at Lou Malnati's Pizzeria—considered to be Chicagoland's best pizza.

For those joining us for lunch but are not going on a tour, please gather in the host hotel lobby at 11:15 a.m. on Friday to catch the shuttle to the restaurant.

If you are participating in a tour, transportation to the restaurant will be provided.

    3:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Orientation for new CCEC members at The Peninsula Chicago. Business casual attire.

    4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee Business Meeting at Peninsula Chicago. Business casual attire.

    6:00 7:00 p.m.

Reception at The Peninsula Chicago.

       7:00 p.m.

Dinner on your own.

Saturday, September 5
 

  8:00 10:00 a.m.

Breakfast will be served continuously. Come anytime between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. as casually as you like.

Pick up your wristbands for the train ride to South Bend, Indiana.

        10:00 a.m. 12:45 p.m.

Enjoy Chicago on your own.

  12:45 1:15 p.m.

Buses will load for the train depot from The Peninsula Chicago.

       2:00 p.m.

Trains depart for South Bend. Train ride is approximately 2 hours. Please note, we will cross into the Eastern Time Zone en route.

       5:00 p.m. EDT

Trains arrive in South Bend, Indiana.  Bus transportation to the Notre Dame Stadium will be provided upon arrival.

    5:30 7:30 p.m. EDT

CCEC Pre-Game Reception and Tailgating

       7:30 p.m. EDT

UT Longhorns vs. the Fighting Irish. Buses will leave the Notre Dame Stadium to return to the South Bend train station 30 minutes after the game. Transportation to the host hotel will be provided upon arrival in Chicago.
