Alumni donors Mayur and Nutan Ranoliya-Radadiya (MS ’10 and MS ’13, respectively) want to inspire students through their gift, so they gave their new Opportunity Fund a name that evokes images of strength and courage: Sorath Lion. The name honors a pride of lions that adapted to a foreign territory in India to avoid extinction.

During the four years of the Realize the Vision campaign, more than 21,000 gifts have been made by all donors, including alumni, friends, companies and foundations, close to doubling the number of gifts given in the same timeframe prior to the campaign.

Approximately 30 donors have established Opportunity Funds at UT Dallas. One new fund, The Dean and Cindy Sherry Opportunity Fund, supports the Chemistry Department.

Over the past year, donors mobilized new efforts to create endowments that improve the campus setting, strengthen academics and support research activities. Campus enhancement funds will build a permanent endowment to provide for the future care of the campus beautification project.
