UT System Regents to meet March 7

The University of Texas System Board of Regents will hold a special meeting by telephone conference call on Friday, March 7, in Austin.

The Board will convene in open session at 10:30 a.m. to consider agenda items related to delegation of authority regarding the new Employer Identification Number (EIN) application for UT Rio Grande Valley and the approval of authorization for UT Austin’s participation in the Giant Magellan Telescope project.

Following consideration of open session agenda items, the Board will recess into executive session at 10:45 a.m. to discuss legal issues and personnel issues related to the search for a president of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The Board will reconvene in open session at about 11:55 a.m. to consider action, if any, on executive session items.

The meeting is expected to adjourn at approximately 12 p.m.

Members of the media may listen to open session portions of the meeting on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street. Media parking is available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 6th and 7th streets.
