Officer Moran began her career with the UT System Police-El Paso in 2009 as a Public Safety Officer. She applied for and successfully graduated from the 90th BTS at the UT System Police Academy in Austin, TX in December 2010.  Officer Moran has worked in a variety of assignments in the Patrol Division to include being a Police Field Training Officer and participating in a Crime Scene Unit Photography pilot program with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department. In 2015 she was assigned to the Special Services Unit and assisted with pre-employment background checks for Police Department applicants, identified programs for the University community on safety and education, and worked on special projects to include researching new programs and procedures.  Her co-workers describe Moran as an analytical thinker who is a detail oriented problem solver with a strong work ethic.  Officer Moran has completed several specialized training programs and consistently strives to distinguish herself as a law enforcement professional, and her achievements stand out as tributes to her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic to keep the UTEP community safe.  Not only is Officer Moran a TCOLE Instructor, but also the Department’s coordinator for the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program, an active member of the Color Guard and the Bike Patrol Unit.  Currently, Officer Moran is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division and has been instrumental in contributing her skills with open source and social media investigations, witness outreach and being a passionate advocate for crime victims which has led to several successful case presentations.    Officer Moran has a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the University of Texas and holds an Advance Peace Officer Certificate.  She has over 3100 total training hours to include specialized courses as a Mental Health Officer and Special Investigator Certification.   Officer Moran’s goal is to become a Detective and continue her career with the UT System Police.   In her free time, Officer Moran likes to travel, is an avid reader, enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends.
