BCBSTX Offers Identity Protection Services to members in UT SELECT Medical and UT CARE Medicare PPO

As a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas member, you have access to identity protection services for you and your family at no cost to you through Experian, an independent company. The services are available to give our members some peace of mind and are intended to protect health and personal information.

To Enroll

To enroll in this free program, you should log into your Blue Access for Members (BAM) account at www.bcbstx.com/ut (for UT SELECT participants) or www.bcbstx.com/retiree-medicare-ut (for UT CARE). Once logged in, you should click on Coverage > Coverage and Benefits > Medical. Then, under "Benefits Highlights," scroll down and click the “Identity Protection” heading.

If you have already subscribed to Experian's IdentityWorks, you are all set with your enrollment. You should access your account directly with Experian. Please note this free service does require registration every 12 months. You will receive a reminder from Experian when it is time to sign up again and will follow the same enrollment process described here.

NOTE: If you have not previously registered with Blue Access for Members (BAM), you will need to do so in order to access the link to sign up for free Identity Protection services. Your Benefits Identification number (or BID) is an 8-character unique identifier used for all of your UT Benefits coverage which can be found on your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas ID card. (See example below.) The "Identification Number" requested during registration for BAM includes the leading "0" on your BCBSTX ID card for UT SELECT members or the leading "U" for UT CARE members plus your 8-character BID.
